PublicArt Works collaborated with Woodhead Architects as part of the VIA joint venture, which included Watpac, Ferrovial, GHD, Urbis and Point of View in final selection to tender for the design and construction of Wynyard Walk, Sydney.
In conjunction with the design team, we developed a walk which was a layered, rich and diverse experience for pedestrians. Legibility and design excellence were high, allowing the pedestrian to engage in stimulating and poetic encounters about the place, its stories and meanings.
“The new walkway will allow pedestrians to walk between Wynyard Station and the Barangaroo waterfront in approximately six minutes, avoiding current steep inclines and numerous road crossings,” said Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian.
“When completed, Barangaroo is expected to accommodate 23,000 office workers and attract up to 33,000 visitors daily.”
