Sydney Blacksmith Lok Sutherland and South Australian scene painter Mikey Wolff are two of Jade Oakley’s highly skilled craftsmen on this interior sculpture for Mirvac at Sydney Olympic Park. The Pavilions artwork is inspired by the three beautiful fig trees that grace the entrance to this large residential development. Mirvac, once again show themselves to be admirable clients in the public art sphere- with a realistic approach to what art costs, and a commitment to commissioning it even when it is not mandated. Notably, this residential complex also features some admirable affordable housing initiatives by Mirvac.
