New Zealand artist Phil Price is completing fabrication of the 7 metre high kinetic sculpture for St Leonards Square by Mirvac. Regarded as one of the most outstanding kinetic sculptors in the world, his unique wind activated structures are mesmerizing. Constructed from steel and carbon fibre, Phil has spent 20 years honing these finely engineered structures, which use a simple but unique system of weights and bearings to manage movement in gentle and extreme weather conditions. Much in demand, he is just about to double the size of his Christchurch studio. The sculpture is due for installation in June.
